Aisha de Haas, Francis Jue, Jo Lampert, et al. Set for Yale Institute for Music Theatre Workshops

Casting has been announced for the two music theater works that will receive developmental workshops at the Yale Institute for Music Theatre, to run June 13-27. At the end of two-week rehearsal periods, both pieces will be performed in public, staged readings at the Off-Broadway Theatre in New Haven.

Shaina Taub’s The Daughters, which follows the three daughters of Zeus as they embark on separate and intersecting journeys of self-discovery, will feature Emily Jenda (Grace, Orion), Jo Lampert (Aphrodite), Carrie Manolakos (Athena), Christina Robinson (Grace), Sarah Sokolovic (Grace), Rachel Stern (Artemis), and Aisha de Haas (Zeus). Mark Brokaw will direct the piece which will have musical direction by Jesse Vargas. The public performances of Taub’s work will be held on June 25 and 26 at 4pm.

Francs Jue will star in Stuck Elevator, which has music by Bryon Au Young and a libretto by Aaron Jafferis. Chay Yew will direct the piece, which is a roller-coaster ride through the swirling and claustrophobic mind of an illegal immigrant Chinese food delivery man. Perry So will serve as conductor for the performances, which will have sound design by Hillary Charnas and will play June 25 at 7pm and June 26 at 1pm.
