Eileen Niccolai, Joe Wiens Set for Shattered Globe Theatre Company’s Orpheus Descending
in The Beauty Queen of Leenane
Shattered Globe Theatre Company has announced casting for Tennessee Williams’ Orpheus Descending, to run February 7 – March 11 at Stage 773. Julieanne Ehre will direct the production.
The play focuses on Val Xavier, a young, charismatic musician who descends on a small, repressive Southern town and he forms a relationship with Lady Torrance, a passionate woman with a tragic past trapped in a loveless marriage.
The company will feature Eileen Niccolai as Lady Torrance and Joe Weins as Val Xavier, as well as Jacob Alexander, Courtney Boxwell, Derek Gaspar, Arch Harmon, Kevin Kenneally, Alice Pacyga, Drew Schad, Katherine Schwartz, Angie Shriner, Jessica Thigpen and Heather Townsend.
The creative team will include Courtney O’Neill (scenic design), Lindsay Schmeling (costume design), Charles Cooper (lighting design), and Christopher Kriz (sound design).
