The stars of the upcoming Broadway revival of Scott McPherson's Marvin's Room met the press on May 11. Directed by Anne Kauffman, the Roundabout Theatre Company production begins performances on June 8 at the American Airlines Theatre, with opening night set for June 29.

The play stars Janeane Garofalo as Lee, Lili Taylor as Bessie, and Celia Weston as Ruth. They are joined by Jack DiFalco as Hank, Carman Lacivita as Bob and "Marvin," Nedra McClyde as Dr. Charlotte, Luca Padovan as Charlie, and Triney Sandoval as Dr. Wally.

The creative team includes Laura Jellinek (sets), Jessica Pabst (costumes), Japhy Weideman (lights), and Daniel Kluger (original music and sound).

Marvin’s Room follows estranged sisters Lee and Bessie. Lee is a single mother who's been busy raising her troubled teenage son, Hank. Bessie's got her hands full with their elderly father and his soap-opera-obsessed sister. When Bessie is diagnosed with leukemia, the two women reunite for the first time in 18 years.

Marvin’s Room premiered at the Goodman Theatre in February 1990 and went on to Hartford Stage, Playwrights Horizons, and the Minetta Lane Theatre in New York. For his work on Marvin’s Room, McPherson received the 1990 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Play, and the 1991 Whiting Writer’s Award, among others.
