Former NYMF Leader Isaac Robert Hurwitz Joins Fox Stage Productions in New Position

Hurwitz will oversee the development of musical versions of films like Mrs. Doubtfire.

Isaac Robert Hurwitz is the new Senior Vice President at Fox Stage Productions.

Isaac Robert Hurwitz, the cofounder and former executive director/producer of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, has been hired by Fox Stage Productions as senior vice president.

In his new role, Hurwitz will be responsible for the development and production of plays and musicals based on the legendary 20th Century Fox film catalogue. He has served as a consultant to the division since it was established in June 2013.

Fox Stage is currently developing several stage productions, including musical adaptations of the acclaimed films Mrs. Doubtfire, The Devil Wears Prada, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid, among many others.

Hurwitz cofounded NYMF in 2004 and served as its leader for a decade. In 2013, he received a Drama Desk Award in recognition of his service. 20th Century Fox produces, acquires, and distributes motion pictures around the globe. The studio also operates Fox Stage Productions, a legitimate-theater production division with offices in New York and Los Angeles.
