Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown Headed to Broadway and London's National Theatre

Hadestown, the acclaimed new musical by celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, will play London's National Theatre this November and then transfer to Broadway for a 2019 opening. The production will play the National's Olivier Theatre November 2-January 26, 2019.

Hadestown was developed with and is directed by Tony Award nominee Rachel Chavkin. The creative team for London and Broadway will feature Rachel Hauck (set design), Michael Krass (costume design), Bradley King (lighting design), Nevin Steinberg (sound design), David Neumann (choreography), Liam Robinson (music direction), Michael Chorney (arrangements and orchestrations), and Todd Sickafoose (additional/co-arrangements and orchestrations). Theater, casting, ticketing information, and other news about Hadestown on Broadway will be announced soon.

Hadestown follows Orpheus and his mythical quest to overcome Hades and regain the favor of his one true love, Eurydice. After premiering at New York Theatre Workshop in May 2016, Hadestown received its Canadian Premiere at the Citadel Theatre, Edmonton in November 2017. Hadestown was developed with funding from the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center and was further developed by The Ground Floor at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Hadestown is coconceived by Ben t. Matchstick.
