Initial casting has been announced for the upcoming Broadway production of the new musical Gettin' the Band Back Together. Previews will begin July 19 at the Belasco Theatre, with opening night set for August 13.

The principal company is set to include Mitchell Jarvis (Rock of Ages) as Mitch Papadopolous, Jay Klaitz (Lend Me a Tenor) as Bart, Paul Whitty (Once) as Sully, Sawyer Nunes (Finding Neverland) as Ricky, Brandon Williams (Blood Brothers) as Tygen, and Tamika Lawrence (Come From Away) as Roxy.

Directed by Tony winner John Rando, Gettin' the Band Back Together has music and lyrics by Mark Allen and a book by Ken Davenport and the Grundleshotz with additional material by Sarah Saltzberg. The creative team also includes Chris Bailey (choreography), Derek McLane (sets), Emily Rebholz (costumes), Ken Billington (lighting design), and John Shivers (sound design).

Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Gettin' the Band Back Together follows a recently fired fortysomething who gathers his old bandmates and sets out to win a local Battle of the Bands competition. An earlier, developmental staging of Gettin' the Band Back Together opened at New Jersey's George Street Playhouse in 2013.
