Cady Huffman will join the cast of Chicago as Matron "Mama" Morton starting Monday, April 23, at the Ambassador Theatre. She will take over from Valerie Simpson, who will play her last performance in the role on Sunday, April 22.

Huffman won a Tony award for her performance as Ulla in The Producers. She has also appeared on Broadway in the original production of La Cage aux Folles, The Will Rogers Follies, and Bob Fosse's Big Deal, among others. On television, she is perhaps best known for a recurring role on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Featuring a classic score by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. Recipient of six 1997 Tony Awards, the revival is directed by Walter Bobbie.

In addition to Simpson, the current cast also features Bianca Marroquín as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Chaz Lamar Shepherd as Billy Flynn, Evan Harrington as Amos Hart, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
