Broadway's Grumpy Cat Dies at the Age of 7

Grumpy Cat made her Broadway debut in ”Cats”.

Grumpy Cat, who made her Broadway debut in Cats in 2016, transitioned up up up past the Russell Hotel, up up up up to the Heaviside Layer on Tuesday, May 14. Grumpy succumbed to a urinary tract infection at the age of 7, surrounded by family and in the arms of her mother, Tabatha.

On September 30, 2016, Grumpy made her Broadway debut as "the first genuine feline" to join the company of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. "Being selected as the first real cat to perform in Cats on Broadway is an honor. I hate it," the then-skeptical, dyspeptical Cat said in a dramatical, pragmatical pre-written statement. "If I'm really being honest, I'd prefer to play the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera."

Before a sold-out audience, Grumpy Cat was named an honorary Jellicle by Old Deuteronomy (Quentin Earl Darrington), who presented her with a commemorative certificate.

Grumpy Cat rocketed to fame on September 22, 2012 when her photo was posted on Reddit. In a short amount of time, Grumpy Cat became a pop culture sensation with millions of followers. She is survived by her family, Tabatha, Bryan, and Chrystal, who will surely let her memory live again.
