The Music Man, Starring Hugh Jackman, Extends Broadway Run
The producers of the Broadway revival of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man at the Winter Garden Theatre have announced that the run is extending half a month to January 15. The previously announced closing date was January 1.
Following the final performance on January 15 at 3pm, The Music Man will have played 46 previews and 374 regular performances.
The Music Man has been the top ticket draw on Broadway during the post-pandemic year. It stars Hugh Jackman as traveling salesman Harold Hill, who convinces the people of River City, Iowa to buy instruments and uniforms for a marching band. Sutton Foster stars as Marian the librarian.
The next tenant at the Winter Garden will be the Broadway run of the West End hit Back to the Future: The Musical, which begins preview performances Friday, June 30, 2023.
