The theater's schedule also includes Rick Burkhardt, Alec Duffy and Dave Malloy's Obie Award-winning Three Pianos. Directed by Rachel Chavkin, the show is inspired by and a theatrical meditation on Franz Schubert's Winterreise, and will run December 7 - January 8. The company's season in the Loeb will conclude with Futurity: A Musical by The Lisps (March 16 - April 15). Sarah Benson will direct this latter show, which has music and lyrics by César Alvarez with The Lisps and a book by Molly Rice and Alvarez, and which melds science fiction and historical narrative in its portrait of two 19th century characters who envision a Utopian future for themselves and the world.
