The Actors' Shakespeare Project production of Much Ado About Nothing begins performances tonight at the Multicutural Arts Center.

Christopher V. Edwards directs the production starring Lydia Barnett-Mulligan as Hero, Brooke Hardman as Beatrice, Omar Robinson as Benedick, Esme Allen as Claudio, Avery Bargar as Don Pedro, Abigail Dickson as Borachio, Andrew Prensky as Garet, Alejandro Simoes as Don John/Dogberry, and Mark Soucy as Leonato.

The play is described as follows: "Benedick is determined to 'die a Bachelor'; Beatrice can't imagine loving a man she can't tolerate. They might just be the perfect couple. Claudio and Hero are instantly smitten with one another. While the villain Don John sows seeds of rumor and alternative truths, the success of two noble marriages hinges on the hilarious efforts of local law enforcement."

The creative team includes Jon Savage (set design), Deb Sullivan (lighting design), Abby Shenker (properties design), and and Adele. Nadine Traub is the stage manager.

Performances continue through May 6.
