Mother-and-son stage team Shirley Jones and Patrick Cassidy will lead an American concert tour of Meredith Willson's The Music Man, beginning in Mason City, Iowa, on September 18. Glen Casale will direct the show.

The Music Man In Concert stars Jones as the host of the evening and Mrs. Paroo, with Cassidy as Prof. Harold Hill. Teri Bibb takes on the role of Marian Paroo, alongside Janna Cardia, Julie Cardia, Michael Dotson, Phil Gold, Danielle Hansen, Perry Lambert, Dink O’Neal, Joseph Torello, and Janis Uhley. The production will feature a 12-piece big brass band and a local choir.

Featuring a book and score by Willson, The Music Man won the 1958 Tony Award for Best Musical. The 1962 film version starred Jones as Marian and Robert Preston as Harold Hill. Jones was pregnant with Cassidy as the movie was being shot.

The production features a concert adaptation by Evans Haile, with additional material by Cassidy and Phil LaDuka. Subsequent stops include Topeka, Kansas; Springfield, Missouri; and Little Rock, Arkansas, with additional cities to be announced.
