The Tony-winning performer presents her take on Margaret White to the West Coast.

By Seattle

Tony winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal) is about to begin performances in the Balagan Theatre/Seattle Theatre Group production of Carrie: The Musical, scheduled to run at Seattle's Moore Theatre from October 11-26. In anticipation of the upcoming opening night, Ripley appeared on the morning talk show New Day Northwest to perform a number from the musical entitled "When There's No One," written by composer Michael Gore and lyricist Dean Pitchford.

The production is directed by Louis Hobson, with whom Ripley costarred on Broadway in Next to Normal. Ripley currently costars as Margaret White, the abusive and religiously fanatical mother of Carrie White, played by Keaton Whittaker. The musical features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen, screenwriter of the classic film adaptation of the Stephen King thriller.
