The play tells the story of Asian activist and playwright D.H.H. (based on Hwang himself) who mistakenly casts a non-Asian actor in an Asian role in his new play. The cast will also include Thomas Azar, Tina Chilip, Robert Ernst, Amy Resnick, and Howard Swain.
Bandhu, who will portray D.H.H., has appeared in plays such as Far East and The Bells, and is a Tony-winning producer of shows such as Spring Awakening and Glengarry Glen Ross. Jue, who plays D.H.H.'s father, received a Lucille Lortel Award and an Obie Award for his performance in the New York production of Yellow Face. He recently appeared Off-Broadway in Coraline, and his Broadway credits include M. Butterfly, Pacific Overtures, and Thoroughly Modern Millie.
