Tony Award-winning director Walter Bobbie will be honored at Classic Stage Company‘s annual benefit gala, to be held at Bridgewaters at South Street Seaport on Monday, May 21 beginning at 6:45pm.
The evening will feature special performances and/or appearances by Nina Arianda, Hugh Dancy, Jenn Gambatese, Norm Lewis, Hamish Linklater, Lorna Luft and Bebe Neuwirth.
Bobbie has directed three acclaimed productions at CSC in recent seasons: New Jerusalem, Venus In Fur (currently on Broadway) and The School for Lies, all written by his longtime collaborator David Ives. Bobbie won the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics awards for his direction of the long-running hit musical Chicago.
