Beth Fowler, Richard Kline to Star in Penguin Rep’s Don’t Talk to the Actors

Two-time Tony Award nominee Beth Fowler and Richard Kline – best known as Larry on Three’s Company — will star in Penguin Rep Theatre‘s production of Don’t Talk to the Actors, a backstage comedy by Tom Dudzick, to run August 12 – September 4. Thomas Caruso will direct.

Penguin Rep’s 2012 season will also include The Hound of the Baskervilles (May 18 – June 10), directed by Mark Shanahan; Richard Dresser’s comedy, The Last Days of Mickey and Jean (June 29 – July 22), directed by Joe Brancato; and Sarah Treem’s The How and the Why (October 5-28), also directed by Brancato.

In addition, there will be two special events: Kosher Comedy Tour starring Peter Fogel, Cindy Miller and Stu Moss (September 22) and Steve Solomon’s My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish & I’m Home For the Holidays (October 20). Both shows take place at SUNY Rockland Community College.

A new series of the popular Monday evening Play With Your Food readings begins June 11, with additional shows July 16, August 6, August 27, and September 10.

In related news, Tom Dudzick’s comedy Miracle on South Division Street, which had its world premiere at Penguin Rep in 2009, moves Off Broadway for an open-ended run at St. Luke’s Theatre beginning Wednesday, April 25, co-produced by Penguin and Morton Wolkowitz.
