Tony Award winner Alan Cumming will be honored at Live Out Loud’s 11th annual Young Trailblazers Gala, to be held at The TimesCenter on Monday, April 30 beginning at 6pm. Tony winner B.D. Wong will host.

Cumming will be presented with the Star Award, given to individuals who have helped Live Out Loud empower LGBT youth. Cumming has used his prominence as a multitalented actor to benefit numerous LGBT and AIDS-related causes, hosted Live Out Loud’s 9th Annual Gala in 2010 and appeared in a Live Out Loud public service announcement produced by Showtime.

The actor won the Tony Award for Cabaret. His many stage credits include The Threepenny Opera, Design for Living, and The Seagull, and he will be seen this year in a one-man version of Macbeth. He currently stars as Eli Gold on CBS’ The Good Wife, for which he received an Emmy Award nomination.

A highlight of this year’s gala will be the awarding of $5,000 scholarships to five high school seniors in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills within their communities. Live Out Loud will also honor leaders who have supported the organization over the years and served as role models for LGBT youth. Other honorees include Deutsch / A Lowe & Partners Company, which will receive the inaugural Corporate Leadership Award, and Bruce T. Sloane, who will receive the Founders Award.
