Cyndi Lauper, Ricky Martin, Chita Rivera Featured on 2012 Carols for a Cure Recording

Cyndi Lauper, Ricky Martin, and Chita Rivera are among the artists who lent their vocal talents to the annual CD Broadway’s Carols for a Cure, Volume 14, which officially goes on sale Friday, October 19.

Lauper and the cast of her musical Kinky Boots have recorded “Blue Christmas” for the album, while Martin joins his Evita castmates Elena Roger, Michael Cerveris, and Max von Essen on an English and Spanish rendition of “We Three Kings/Los Reyes Magos.” Rivera, along with Stephanie J. Block, Jim Norton, and others from The Mystery of Edwin Drood, perform “Good Queen Wenceslas.”

Also featured on the recording are Perez Hilton of NEWSical; Hugh Panaro representing The Phantom of the Opera; The Lion King‘s Timon and Pumbaa, Fred Berman and Ben Jeffrey; and Aaron LeVigne and Rebecca Faulkenberry of Spider-Man Turn off the Dark, as well as a host of other Broadway and regional productions.

The 2-disc CD, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, is sold following Broadway and Off-Broadway shows during the six-week Gypsy of the Year fundraising period, running from October through early December.
