On Thursday, May 13, the Broadway Softball League kicked off its 56th annual season at Central Park's Heckscher Softball Fields.

The cast of Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet lead the crowd in singing the national anthem, followed by the presentation of a $10,000 check from the Broadway Show League to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

On hand to throw the first pitch were Broadway stars Constantine Maroulis from Rock of Ages, Corbin Bleu from In the Heights, Diana DeGarmo from Hair, Terrance Mann from The Addams Family, Gregory Jbara from Billy Elliot, Laura Osnes from South Pacific, Mandy Gonzalez and Katie Rose Clarke from Wicked, Brian D'arcy James, who is rejoining Next to Normal on May 17, and World Series Champ and Former New York Yankee Jeff Nelson.

Also in attendance were In the Heights' Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christopher Jackson.
