Stage and screen star Edie Falco will host a free-of-charge concert to celebrate the release of Over the Moon: The Broadway Lullaby Project, to be held at The Stephen Sondheim Theater on Monday, May 7, at 8pm.

Performers will include Anastasia Barzee, Walter Charles, Jed Cohen, Janet Dacal, Marva Hicks, Nikki M. James, Marc Kudisch, Donna Murphy, and Caesar Samayoa, with more to be announced.

As previously reported, this multi-media charity project includes a two-CD set of original lullabies composed and sung by some of Broadway’s brightest stars, a lavishly-illustrated hardcover book of 17 songs from the album, a corresponding e-book encompassing the entire collection, and a documentary film. The project will raise money for two respected breast cancer charities, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Young Survival Coalition.

At the concert, performances of lullabies by Rupert Holmes, Tom Kitt, Michael John LaChiusa, Robert Lopez, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz and Maury Yeston will be presented along with excerpts from the documentary film and web series featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the project’s creation, produced and directed by Peabody and Emmy-Award winner Barbara Rick of Out of The Blue Films, Inc.

Grammy-nominee Matt Pierson, who produced the recording, will serve as the musical director for the evening. Musicians slated to perform include pianist Kevin Hays, percussionist Bashiri Johnson, guitarist Julian Lage and bassist Harish Raghavan.
