Screen and stage veteran Bill Pullman (The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?) will join the Broadway cast of Sharr White's The Other Place, at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, beginning Tuesday, February 5, in the role of "Ian." He will succeed Daniel Stern (Home Alone), who is departing the production due to unspecified family matters in California.

Pullman currently appears as President Standrich Dale Gilchrist on the new NBC sitcom, 1600 Penn. He received Drama Desk Award nominations for his work in two Edward Albee plays, The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? on Broadway and Peter & Jerry, off-Broadway at Second Stage Theatre. More recently, he starred opposite Julia Stiles in the 2009 Broadway revival of David Mamet's Oleanna. A prolific film actor, his silver screen credits include Spaceballs, Newsies, A League of Their Own, Wyatt Earp, While You Were Sleeping, Lost Highway, Igby Goes Down, and Independence Day, in which he played President Thomas J. Whitmore.

Two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Assassins) directs The Other Place, which premiered off-Broadway in 2011 at MCC Theater's Lucille Lortel Theatre. Three-time Emmy Award winner and Tony nominee Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne) leads the four-member company as neurologist Juliana Smithton, a role for which she received an Obie and a Lucille Lortel Award during the off-Broadway run. She is joined by Zoe Perry (The Lieutenant of Inishmore) as "The Woman," and John Schiappa (Assassins) as "The Man."

The Other Place follows Juliana as her life spirals out of control. Her husband (Pullman) files for divorce, her daughter (Perry) runs off with a much older man (Schiappa), and, after spotting a woman in a yellow bikini within a crowd of people in business attire, she begins to realize that her physical and mental health are in jeopardy.

The creative team includes Eugene Lee (scenic design), David Zinn (costume design), Justin Townsend (lighting design), Fitz Patton (original music, sound design), and William Cusick (projection design).
