Casey Likes Will Star in Disney's Newsies at the Muny

The Muny has announced the cast for its production of Disney’s Newsies, running July 16-22 and presented by Edward Jones.

The show stars Casey Likes as Jack Kelly, Michael Park as Joseph Pulitzer, Anastacia McCleskey as Medda Larkin, Bryce Williams as Davey, Kayla Pecchioni as Katherine Plumber, Nolan Almeida as Crutchie, and Jaron Bentley as Les. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The creative team is led by director Denis Jones, choreographer Richard J. Hinds, and music director/conductor Annbritt duChateau.

The design team includes scenic designer Tijana Bjelajac, costume designer Emily Rebholz, lighting designer Paige Seber, sound designer Joshua Hummel, video designer Caite Hevner, and wig designer Tommy Kurzman.

Inspired by a true story and based on the 1992 Disney film written by Bob Tzudiker and Noni White, Newsies has a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman, with a book by Harvey Fierstein. In it, New York’s powerful newspaper publishers raise distribution prices, leading charismatic teen Jack Kelly and his fellow newsboys to strike back.
