Kate O’Mara will play Marlene Dietrich and Frank Barrie will play Noel Coward in Chris Burgess’ Lunch with Marlene, to play London’s New End Theatre, March 26-April 27. The production will feature direction and musical staging by Stewart Nicholls, with design by Lotte Collett and lighting by David W. Kidd.

The show’s first act takes place in London in 1970, during which Dietrich and Coward have lunch, and she shares news that revives traumatic memories of her life during World War II and her painful return to Berlin in 1960. In the second act, the pair perform a revue of songs associated with the two entertainers.

O’Mara last appeared in the West End in We Happy Few and is known for her work on the television shows Dynasty and Absolutely Fabulous. Barrie’s stage credits include Rules of the Game, The Merchant of Venice, and Woman in Black.
