Columbia Pictures and CBS Films will create a new film version of the classic musical My Fair Lady to be produced by Duncan Kenworthy and Cameron Mackintosh, and Oscar-nominated actress Keira Knightley is in talks to play Eliza Doolittle, according to Variety.
The film will use Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's 1956 score, but will adapt Lerner's original book by including additional material from the show's source material, George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion.
Knightley's film credits include Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Bend It Like Beckham, and The Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.
