Members of the original Broadway cast of the Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine musical Into the Woods will reunite to discuss the show as part of Westport Country Playhouse‘s Sunday Symposium, to be held on Sunday, May 6 following the 3pm matinee of Westport’s production of Into the Woods.

Participating cast members will include Danielle Ferland, who originated the role of Little Red Ridinghood on Broadway, and currently appears as the Baker’s Wife in the Westport production; Joanna Gleason, who won a Tony Award for originating the role of the Baker’s Wife; Lauren Mitchell, the original Lucinda; and Chip Zien, the original Baker.

Mark Lamos has directed Westport’s production, co-produced with Baltimore’s CENTERSTAGE. In the show, the fanciful stories of Cinderella, Little Red Ridinghood, Rapunzel and other classic characters intertwine, as each is forced to confront the harsh reality of what actually happens after “happily ever after.”
