Signature Theatre's Crazy for You Announces Complete Casting
Danny Gardner and Ashley Spencer will lead the company of the Gershwin musical.
Arlington, Virginia's Signature Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for the Gershwins' and Ken Ludwig's musical comedy Crazy for You, running from November 7-January 14, 2018, in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre. The show is directed by Signature Theatre's associate artistic director Matthew Gardiner and choreographed by Tony nominee Denis Jones (Holiday Inn).
As previously announced, Danny Gardner (Dames at Sea) and Ashley Spencer (Rock of Ages) are set to star as Bobby Child and Polly Baker, alongside Bobby Smith (Signature's Titanic) as Bela Zangler, Natascia Diaz (Signature's West Side Story) as Irene Roth, and Cole Burden (The Bridges of Madison County) as Lank Hawkins. They are now joined in the cast by Sean Bell as Billy/Perkins, DeMoya Watson Brown as Louise, Kurt Boehm as Mingo, Jennifer Cordiner as Betsy, Tricia DeSario as Margie, Sherri L. Edelen as Mother/Patricia Fodor, Colleen Hayes as Patsy, Andre Hinds as Custus, Elise Kowalick as Vera, Robert Mintz as Jimmy, Georgina Moore as Sheila, Corinne Munsch as Mitzi, A. Ross Neal as Moose, Maria Rizzo as Tess, Robbie Roby as Wyatt, Thomas Adrian Simpson as Pete/Eugene Fodor, Harrison Smith as Sam, and Harry A. Winter as Everett Baker.
Crazy for You is described as follows: "Bobby Child, a musical-loving banker sent to foreclose on a small-town theater decides to revive it instead with the magic of the Follies, some slapstick comedy and a whole lot of charm. Crazy for You is flush with mistaken identities, a classic love story, tap numbers and George and Ira Gershwin's glorious songs including 'I've Got Rhythm,' 'Someone to Watch Over Me,' 'Embraceable You,' and 'Nice Work If You Can Get It.' "
