Asolo Rep has added Steven Drukman’s The Innocents to its 2010-2011 season. The play, developed as part of the theater’s 2010 Unplugged new play festival, will run April 15 – May 14.

The Innocents focuses on the relationship between a middle aged gay man and his closest female friend and how it is threatened when two very appealing young men enter their world. Casting and a director for the production will be announced at a later date.

Drukman’s other plays include The Bullet Round, In This Corner, Another Fine Mess, Going Native, Flattery Will Get You, and Snowmaiden, among others.

As previously announced, the Asolo season will also include such productions as the musical Bonnie and Clyde (November 12 – December 19) and Lynn Nottage’s Las Meninas (The Waiting Women) (March 18-May 15).
