About the Show

Longtime bassist for They Might Be Giants, GRAMMY-winning Danny Weinkauf, along with his award-winning Red Pants Band, brings his rollicking, family-friendly tunes back to the Epstein Stage at the Levitt Pavilion! This performance is guaranteed to get kids dancing and singing along to clever songs from his new albums, ranging from “Dinosaurs on Roller Skates” to “Your Love is a Metaphor.”
Danny records and tours with the multi GRAMMY winning/platinum selling band They Might Be Giants. His work with TMBG includes writing songs for their children’s albums No!, Here Come the 1,2,3s, Here Come’s Science, and WHY? (all RIAA Gold certified) and the hit song “I am a Paleontologist”. His eponymous solo family music albums inlcude: No School Today, Red Pants Band, Totally Osome!, Inside I Shine, and the most recent album Dinosaurs and Metaphors.

During his 22 yrs. with the TMBG, he has recorded many albums and performed extensively throughout America, Europe, and Australia. TV appearances include late night shows with Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Craig Kilborn, Craig Ferguson, and Jon Stewart, as well as, MTV, VH1, Blues Clues, and The Disney Channel. Danny has also worked with other groups including GRAMMY nominated band Fountains of Wayne, Academy Award nominated singer Mike Viola, David Mead, Lincoln, Mono Puff, Stephen Fretwell, and the Davenports.

Danny has also worked as a Pediatric Physical therapist with special needs children for 20+ yrs. Danny lives with his wife, 2 children, and a dog named “Dr. B”.

* Event is rain or shine.
* BYO-Lawn Chair.
* Lawn opens to ticket-holders one hour before show-time.
* Outside food and drink are allowed at this free event – picnics welcome!
* Please note: No large coolers, no high tables.
* No tents, no lawn signs; no staking.
* Help us protect our lawn, river and surroundings: Do not discard leftover ice on lawn. No balloons. No glitter. No sparklers. No confetti.
* Water is for sale at the Box Office
* Smoking is prohibited, including but not limited to cigarettes, cigars, pipes, e-cigarettes or any other vaping devices.
* Aisles must be kept clear at all times. Restricted areas are off limits including but not limited to backstage, garden beds, and mulch-covered areas/slopes.
* Pets are not allowed.
* Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times – no roaming off the lawn. Please accompany children to the restrooms, which feature changing stations.
* The use of scooters and skateboards is prohibited throughout the premises, including but not limited to the ADA access ramp, the entry plaza, and the terrace.
* The Levitt Pavilion is an outdoor amphitheater with a sloped lawn. Please wear appropriate footwear to safely enjoy the experience.
* Free Tickets may not be claimed and sold. Selling free tickets will result in loss of account access.
* All those claiming ticket(s) are responsible for sharing these rules and directions with guests in their party.
* Patrons are asked to self-screen for any of the CDC’s recognized COVID-19 symptoms and refrain from attending if necessary.
* In the event of showers: Ponchos are best! While umbrellas are currently allowed at free-ticket events, venue reserves the right to direct patron to close umbrella if it is obscuring another patron’s view or compromising another patron’s space, safety or enjoyment.
