Mime with Happenstance Theater

An experienced craftsman shares his toolbox for what Marcel Marceau calls “The Art of Gesture.” Explore techniques taught by twentieth century masters for clear, simple, honest and subtle physical expression, to balance the form and content of gesture, and to create illusions. We will apply technical skills in creative exercises designed to be engaging, inclusive, and fun.

Instructor: Mark Jaster
Mark Jaster studied mime with Etienne Decroux and Marcel Marceau. He has occasionally served as Marceau’s teaching assistant, but is better known locally for his solo mime performances. For the Capital Fringe, he appears in Happenstance Theater’s Prufbox.

Happenstance’s Prufbox can be seen as part of the Inaugural Capital Fringe Festival at The Warehouse Main Stage on 7/22 at 10 pm, 7/23 at 11:15 am, 7/25 at 5:30 pm, 7/26 at 8 pm.
