Rafael is a Mexican; the economic conditions in his country have led him to try and enter the US illegally in order to find work. Emily is a grade school teacher; the crisis in US immigration has led her to join the Minuteman Project, and go down south to guard the border. But strange things will happen to all three of them…
Central Works opens its 2006 season with this new play about citizenship and immigration. Developed using Central Works Collaborative Method, Shadow Crossing is a new play written by local playwright Brian Thorstenson. This collaboration marks the first script to be developed with a writer outside the Central Works Ensemble. Over the next five months, Brian has five pieces being featured throughout the Bay Area including this world premiere.
