The Hula Show

Patrick Makuakane’s dynamic and award-winning Na Lei Hulu | Ka Wekiu performs The Hula Show as part of the Lincoln Center’s Out of Doors Festival and the National Museum of the American Indian’s 2004 Native Sounds Downtown program. These performances feature live Hawaiian music, traditional and contemporary hula and Makuakane’s own form, “hula mua” (a progressive form of contemporary hula) performed by a company of 34 dancers plus leading guest musicians from Hawai’i.
