About This Show

Rivers of Honey is a monthly cabaret featuring women and trans artists of color. This month’s specials include delectable Puerto Rican musicians, actors, comedians, and spicy drag king performers. Following the performance, W.O.W. Cafe has an open mic.

Rivers of Honey was started in 1999 by a group of women artists/activists (namely Hanifah Walidah) who wanted to create a venue and a space that showcased and supported the art of women of color. Rivers empowers colored/brown/black women through the performing and visual arts and creates a safe space for these artists to show their work and realize their creative visions.
