About This Show

Camille Brown Productions presents Shelf Life as part of the 10th annual New York International Fringe Festival. The solo show is written and performed by Camille Brown, and directed by Matt Hoverman.

Broadway veteran, print model, teacher and recently married, Camille knows a lot about the societal pressures that women face. A striking beauty, Camille confesses insecurities about her appearance and the implications of aging. As she tries to resist the lure of the cosmetics industry and challenges conventional ideas about motherhood, Camille presents us with tough questions. Are all women born with ‘Maternal Instincts’? What is the ‘SHELF LIFE’ of female beauty and reproductive system? Does deciding not to have children lead to lonely years in old age? Camille allows us to see how she answers them for herself with disarming candor and humor.

“A charming and thoughtfully entertaining experience. Camille was like a small mirror turned toward the audience. It suddenly became all about us!” –Aubrey Lynch II, Creative Producer-Disney’s The Lion King
