About This Show

The American Premiere of a new dramedy by Mark Jenkins (Author of Playing Burton). Set during the last few months of WWII, Nora’s Bloke has been called Abie’s Irish Rose meets Dancing at Lughnasa. Leslie (Hoban) Blake directs.

Four young Irish women, raised together in an orphanage, struggle to cope with the deprivations of World War II London and the constant bombing by Hitler’s Luftwaffe. No stockings, no butter and NO MEN!!! But hope, ingenuity and their indefatigable female hormones help the four friends cope.

Cathy’s a ‘white witch,’ Deidre’s man-hungry and Molly – well, Molly’s ‘different.’ But poor Nora is so ‘facially challenged’ that no one expects her to ever find a man, much less one named Blumberg! Time for a 1944-style extreme makeover!!

The production staff for “Nora’s Bloke” includes Costumes: Dierdre Wegner, Lighting Design: Joe Novak, Set Design: Lance Spellerberg, Music Director: Tom Burns: Stage Manager: Irene Antoniazzi, Lightboard Operator: Elisa Ochoa and Production Assistant: Erica Cardwell.

There is an additional matinee performance on Saturday 28th at 3pm.
