About This Show

The Hotel Savant follows up its critically acclaimed New York debut last season with the world premiere of playwright/director John Jahnke’s Greek-comi-tragedy-cum-Guignol Mercurius. Inspired by the alchemy critiques of C.G. Jung, the piece follows the strange adventures of a pair of sisters abandoned in their youth on a deserted island by their family. The duo conjures the titular hermaphrodite spirit, who in turn summons their nearly forgotten family. What follows is a dark tale of revenge, lust, mysticism, and family dysfunction.
