About This Show

Warsaw, 1920’s: secular, passionate Jews frequent kleynkunst theaters – Yiddish cabarets. These hipsters soak up satiric music, laugh at anti-Semitism, drink whiskey, and dance the Charleston. They were riding the wave of Polish independence, fighting for a freer world. Rebecca Fletcher’s Kleynkunst! reveals the courage, brilliance and bite of a lost era. This cabaret show contains songs in English and Yiddish with Russian and English supertitles.
