The Toilet written by the legendary playwright, author, revolutionary political activist and Poet Laureate of New Jersey Amiri Baraka is a masterful analysis of an individual’s isolation within the social code of his community and the inability to love in our society. The story unfolds as a white homosexual boy gets beaten by a gang of black youths after he sends a love letter to their leader. Directed by Hampton (Rony) Clanton, whose first acting audition cast him in the lead role of the movie The Education of Sonny Carson makes his directorial debut with the talented cast, whi ch includes; Michael Alcide, Amari Cheatom, W. Tre Davis, Adam R. Deremer, Jason A. Dixon, Lawrence Mack, Natafa, Ras Enoch McCurdie, Reynaldo Piniella, Johnny Ramey and Matt Weaver.
Ed Bullins and Marvin X’s collaboration on Salaam, Huey Newton, Salaam depicts the aftermath of the Black revolution through the eyes of a "down- and-out" ex-Panther Huey P. Newton and is directed by Mansoor Najee-ullah who first created the role in its early Off Broadway production. Salaam, Huey Newton, Salaam will feature Michael Alcide, *Gano Grills and *Harrison Lee.
Hugh L. Fletcher chronicles the police interrogation of three "women" regarding the death of a young man at the hands of the significantly older mother of his child in Amarie. This one-act is directed by freedome bradley. The cast includes Sherise Pruitt, *Chrystal Stone, *Lisa Strum and *Carsey Walker, Jr.
