Ogun and Oshoosi Size are loyal brothers. But, when Oshoosi’s charismatic friend shows up, will he be tempted back to old habits?
Written by Tarell Alvin McCraney (Academy Award for Moonlight) and co-directed by Bijan Sheibani (Barber Shop Chronicles at BAM) and McCraney, The Brothers Size is a modern-day fable about two brothers in the Deep South.
The production features André Holland (Moonlight, Exhibiting Forgiveness) as Ogun, who embodies hard work and reliability, with Alani iLongwe (Paradise Blue, Arthur the King) as his younger brother, the formerly incarcerated Oshoosi. As Oshoosi lives a seemingly carefree and unpredictable life, the arrival of his friend Elegba, played by Malcom Mays (Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Snowfall), forces the brothers to wrestle with loyalty, freedom, and duty in a heartfelt exploration of their bond.
Presented in the round, The Brothers Size weaves the rich storytelling tradition of the Yoruba people of West Africa into this new production, which marks the 20th anniversary of McCraney’s play.
