Could it be that stagestruck bumpkin named Will Shakespeare posed as front-man for the likes of Sir Francis Bacon, the Earl of Oxford, and even the Queen, who were all too proud to admit they dabbled in the lowly sport of wordsmithing? Or were the nobles simply gifted with plot and he a mere script doctor?
