Jonathan Larson’s Rent chronicles a year in the lives of a group of New York City East Villagers, grappling with everything from paying the rent on time … to being ripped apart by love, drugs, AIDS, and death. Inspired by Puccini’s La Boheme, it is a joyous, breathtaking and often heartbreaking musical that celebrates a community of young artists as they struggle with the soaring hopes and tough realities of today’s world.
