About the Show

When it opened fifty years ago on Broadway, this musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was considered too dark and Bernstein’s music too complex to succeed. And yet, it changed the course of American musical theatre and the music is the finest Leonard Bernstein ever composed, including “Something’s Coming,” “Maria,” “Cool,” “I Feel Pretty,” “America” and “Somewhere.” The Fulton marks the Fiftieth Anniversary of this masterpiece by partnering for the first time ever with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Stephen Gunzenhauser to provide the richness of the original orchestrations with a 26-piece orchestra in the orchestra pit to accompany the performers on stage. West Side Story is an event that is not to be missed!
