This original play tells several stories of Lithuanians just before and during the outbreak of the Second World War and the following occupation of Lithuania by the Soviet Union. All characters in the play and their stories are based on and composed from the authentic life stories of actor’s grandparents’, parents’, uncles’ and aunts’ lives that are told throughout the performance as a personal biography of the actor in character. In order to strengthen the sense of authenticity, actors are given a great deal of freedom to improvise during each performance. In this way, the play is only finalized on-stage by actors during each performance.
