The Book of Liz delights fans of both David Sedaris’ biting wit and Amy Sedaris’ offbeat humor. Sister Elizabeth Donderstock lives in a strict religious community of the Squeamish, where she wears a pilgrim-esque frock and rides a llama to work. Although her famous cheese balls have kept the sequestered community afloat for many years, a young upstart insists on commandeering her recipe and taking over. Devastated, Liz runs away and ventures into the unknown outside world. She meets a Ukrainian immigrant with a Cockney accent dressed as Mr. Peanut, a slew of recovering alcoholic restaurant workers, and an unorthodox doctor in favor of leech treatments.
