Nuttin’ But Hutton celebrates the vivacious spirit and indisputable talent of Betty Hutton, the jewel in Paramount’s glittering crown of stars in the ’40s and ’50s. Sing, act, dance — there was nothing this “blonde bombshell” couldn’t do, as she proved over and over in such films as Annie Get Your Gun (where she replaced Judy Garland), The Perils of Pauline and the Oscar-winning The Greatest Show on Earth. Nuttin’ But Hutton follows Dee Dee who, along with her pals Tom, Dick and Harry, enlists a down-on-his-luck producer to put on a Betty Hutton tribute. The result is more than 20 show-stopping musical numbers with sophisticated 1940s-style vocal arrangements, backed by a live six-piece band. Directed by Larry Raben, one of the developers of the hit musical Forever Plaid, Nuttin’ But Hutton is choreographed by Lee Martino, and features songs by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Frank Loesser, Livingston & Evans and Jimmy Van Heusen.
