Daniel Breaker, Steven Epp, Renata Friedman, et al. Set for Intiman’s A Doctor in Spite of Himself

Seattle’s Intiman Theatre has announced casting for Moliere’s A Doctor in Spite of Himself, to run September 3-October 10. Christopher Bayes, who has co-adapted the piece with Steven Epp, will direct the production.

The comedy centers on what happens when a spirited woman convinces the town that her scoundrel of a husband is the best doctor around.

As previously announced, Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker will lead the cast as Sganarelle.The company will also feature Epp (Lucas/Thibaut), along with Austin Durant (Léandre), Renata Friedman (Lucinde), Allen Gilmore (M. Robert/Géronte), Ashley Marshall (Martine/Perrin), Don Darryl Rivera (Valère), and Chelsey Rives (Jacqueline), along with musicians Greg C. Powers and Robertson Witmer.

The creative team will include Narelle Sissons (scenic design), Elizabeth Caitlin Ward (costume design), Greg Sullivan (lighting design,) and Aaron Halva (original music and sound design).
