San Francisco Drag-ifies HBO’s most popular leading ladies in Sex and the City: LIVE!

Sex and the City: LIVE! will return to Rebel, where San Francisco’s favorite drag queens give the TV hit new life.

Although we all know Carrie Bradshaw’s home is New York City, she and the rest of the ladies of Sex and the City are headed west to San Francisco…and they’re armed with a whole lot of sequins and hairspray.

Once again combining an unmistakably San Franciscan drag show with one of the most beloved series in television history, Sex and the City: LIVE! will return to the San Francisco bar Rebel, following a sold-out run last year. From Velvet Rage Productions, the company that produced the stage adaptations of Roseanne and Designing Women, Sex and the City: LIVE! will begin its open-ended run on January 16. Drag-Carrie and crew perform twice every Wednesday night, and each performance features two episodes adapted from the original Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning HBO series. In addition to being an over-the-top night of flamboyance, Sex and the City: LIVE! plans to explore the differences between friendships and relationships as well as tackle the same issues of femininity and sexuality that turned the original series into the global phenomenon it is today.

The performers adapting the roles of the four leading ladies are Heklina (Carrie), D’Arcy Drollinger (Samantha), Lady Bear (Miranda), and Trixxie Carr (Charlotte). They will be joined by supporting cast members Leigh Crow (Mr. Big), Cookie Dough (Ensemble), and Jordan Wheeler (Ensemble).
