Danny Hoch's Taking Over Gets Two Week Extension at Berkeley Rep
In the solo show, Hoch captures the characters of his New York neighborhood and the ethnic and economic tensions. His cast of characters transforms across the boundaries of race, age, and gender, depicting a city in transition.
Hoch is the author of Till the Break of Dawn and is well known for his solo performances Some People and Jails, Hospitals & Hip-Hop. He founded the Hip-Hop Theater Festival in 2000, and he appears annually in New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Oakland.
