The West Coast premiere of October Sky, directed by Rachel Rockwell, is now in performances at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre. Featuring a book by Brian Hill and Aaron Thielen, and music and lyrics by Michael Mahler, the show is set to run through October 23.

Inspired by the 1999 film from Universal Pictures and the book Rocket Boys, the musical tells the story of a West Virginia high school student who enters a rocketry competition against the wishes of his domineering, practical-minded dad. With the help of his friends and the local community, he just might light up the night. The musical features a book by Brian Hill and Aaron Thielen and a score by Michael Mahler.

Kyle Selig stars alongside Ron Bohmer, Kerry O’Malley, Rebecca Bellingham, Joel Blum, Will Branner, Sandra DeNise, James Royce Edwards, Steve Gouveia, Kevyn Morrow, Austyn Myers, Destan Owens, Eliza Palasz, Liam Quealy, Patrick Rooney, Connor Russell, Lance Arthur Smith, Betsy Stewart, and Nick Sullivan. Rounding out the ensemble are Nicolette Burton, John Cardoza, Clay Stefanki, Scott Wakefield, and Angela Wildflower.
