The Office! A Musical Parody Launches Nationwide Search to Cast Michael Scott

The new work is the latest offering from ”Friends! The Musical Parody” creators Bob and Tobly McSmith.

A nationwide search has been announced for the lead role of Michael Scott in off-Broadway's upcoming The Office! A Musical Parody, beginning performances September 20 at the Jerry Orbach Theater. Donald Garverick directs.

Audition videos must be received before August 20 to be considered. According to press materials, "because Dunder Mifflin firmly believes in Diversity Day: all genders, ages and races will be considered for this role."

Additional cast members will include Michael Santora (Dwight), Tom McGovern (Jim, Andy), Taylor Coriell (Pam, Erin), Katie Johantgen (Angela, Others), Rebecca Mason-Wygal (Phyllis, Meredith, Others), Ani Djirdjirian (Kelly, Others), Madeline Glenn (swing), and Patrick Swailes Caldwell (swing).

The latest offering from Friends! The Musical Parody creators Bob and Tobly McSmith, based on the popular NBC sitcom The Office! A Musical Parody, "highlights a typical day at Scranton's third-largest paper company, Dunder Mifflin. For no logical reason, a documentary crew begins filming the lives of the employees in an immersive parody experience where audiences 'work' with all their favorite officemates."

The design team includes Assaf Gleizner (music), Josh Iacovelli (set design), Alex Stevens (lighting design, Matthew Fischer (sound design), and Dustin Cross (costume design).
