Mark Stuart Dance Theatre Brings Standard Time to New York

The musical explores four different periods of time through the art of dance.

Standard Time, a new dance musical from Mark Stuart Dance Theatre, will begin a limited off-Broadway engagement November 15 at the Duke on 42nd Street. The show will continue through December 6.

Standard Time is described as "a 90-minute, action-packed, and gravity-defying celebration of love’s
power to defy the endless cycle of prejudice in modern society. Showcasing Mark Stuart Dance Theatre’s explosive brand of movement and storytelling, Standard Time follows three separate, period-specific love stories set against the backdrops of the Great Depression, the Civil Rights Movement, and today’s fast evolving acceptance of gay rights."

The company will be made up of creator/choreographer Stuart, alongside Jaime Verazin, Loren Allred, Michael Balderrama, Jerome Bell, Michelle Camaya, Allyson Carr, Arielle Campbell, Jon Drake, Brian Golub, Sean Hingston, Ayo Jackson, Marc Heitzman, Sarah Meahl, Alexis Simms, Rickey Tripp, C.J. Tyson, and Michael Williams.

The production will also feature a 7-piece orchestra.
